Evidence before certainty
Reported claims should be attributable to primary documents, direct observation or named sources. A second AI pass is not independent verification. Corrections should change the substance and state what was corrected.
What a source supports
A regulator’s rule, a company filing and a product help page answer different questions. We link evidence beside consequential claims and identify the date, jurisdiction and product it covers. A company’s account of its own decision is attributed to that company; it is not treated as independent confirmation of an outcome.
Worked examples are labelled. Reporting, a source’s opinion and our interpretation should remain distinguishable. Where the evidence leaves a question unresolved, the article should say so.
Dates and revisions
The publication date records when a story first appeared. A material revision receives an update date and an explanation in the article; routine source checks or formatting repairs do not reset the publication date. Time-sensitive rules and product details need a new source check before reuse.
Independence
Commercial partners buy an agreed format and placement. They do not control unrelated editorial coverage. Paid relationships are disclosed before the article body and wherever a commercial card appears.
