A tied baccarat round can leave the main Player stake intact and a separate Player Bonus stake lost. Backing Tie is different again: that wager wins on equal final totals under the rules examined here. The word "tie" describes the cards, not one payment shared by every position.

For readers checking a settlement, the distinction begins with the wager's full name. This guide uses Pragmatic Play's public Live Baccarat game help, checked on 26 October 2026, and cross-checks the payout wording against win2day's Austrian Live Baccarat conditions. Neither document proves the configuration loaded in a particular customer's account.

The round ends once; each wager settles separately

In the Pragmatic Play help, page 3, equal final totals push the main Player and Banker bets. A push returns the original stake with no profit. A separate Tie position wins instead. Player Bonus and Banker Bonus follow their own paytable on page 5.

Consider an invented round in which Player receives two and four, while Banker receives ace and five. Both initial totals are six. The dealing rules end that round without a third card. Neither hand is a natural: that term requires eight or nine from the initial two cards.

The four rows below are separate hypothetical wagers on that same six-six result. They do not propose placing all four together; the help warns that opposing Player and Banker bets may be blocked. Pounds are teaching units, not a quoted currency, table limit or live offer.

Separate illustrative wagers on one non-natural six-six Tie under the cited Pragmatic Play rules; not a combined betting plan
Wager on the illustrative six-six tieTotal returned, including stakeNet result on that wager
Main Player, £10 stake£10£0
Main Banker, £10 stake£10£0
Tie, £2 stake at the named 8:1 payout£18£16 profit
Player Bonus, £2 stake under the named Bonus rule£0£2 loss

A refund in the first row has not paid for a loss elsewhere. If only the £10 main Player wager and £2 Player Bonus were available and accepted, the example commits £12 and returns £10. The account is down £2 despite the main wager pushing. That is accounting after an assumed result, not a recommendation to combine bets.

Eight to one leaves the original stake outside the profit

A winning £2 Tie wager at 8:1 earns £16. Adding the original £2 produces an £18 gross return. Calling the entire £18 profit counts the original money twice.

The win2day payout table also lists Tie at 8:1 and says the stake is retained on a win. That is a published Austrian product example, not a worldwide baccarat rate. Other versions need their own table.

If the round instead finishes with unequal totals, the Tie condition has failed. A main wager on the higher hand and a Tie wager can therefore have different results again. The payout ratio describes a successful wager's payment; it does not establish the probability of that success or a method for profiting.

Banker commission concerns a different outcome: a winning Banker hand. Our comparison of named commission rules follows those deductions and exceptions. They should not be applied to the returned main stake in this tied-round example.

"Natural tie" is narrower than "tie"

Pragmatic's Player Bonus and Banker Bonus table pays qualifying wins and specifically pushes a natural tie. The six-six example meets neither condition, so its Player Bonus loses. The main Player push does not extend that exception to the extra wager.

If both initial two-card totals were eight, the tied result would be natural. Under this Bonus rule, the Bonus stake would then push as well. These are alternative invented outcomes, not consecutive hands or results recorded by Betting Tribune.

The relevant distinction is the initial two-card total, not whether the dealer happened to draw another card. Our baccarat drawing-rule guide explains why dealing can stop below eight. A round stopping after four cards does not automatically make it natural.

Before treating an entry as a refund or winnings, match it to the exact wager and table version. Keep the stake, returned amount and net difference on separate lines. A single "Tie" result cannot tell you which of those entries the account should contain.
