Four extra spins can extend a slot feature without starting a fresh prize allowance. A retrigger describes the addition to the sequence. The rules still decide when that sequence ends, including whether a win ceiling can stop it with spins left.
The Knight King provides a concrete example. Pragmatic Play's launch description, dated 16 March 2023, describes seven starting free spins and a retrigger adding four. Its publicly available game overview includes the accompanying help screens. Read on 27 October 2026, these documents establish the published example, not the build currently loaded at a particular casino.
Four more extends the existing count
In the overview, three scatter symbols trigger seven free spins; two during the feature add four. That is an addition to a round already under way.
Suppose three of the original seven spins have completed, with the third producing the retrigger. Four of the original allocation remain. Adding the new four leaves eight spins available: seven minus three plus four. The sequence has awarded eleven in total, of which three have been used.
Returning the display to seven would not represent that same invented position. Nor would treating the four-spin addition as a new seven-spin award. A counter can show spins remaining or spins completed, so its label matters as well as its number.
If two further spins then complete without another retrigger, six remain. These are conditional counter examples, not a recorded customer session or a prediction of a retrigger. No probability follows from the size of the award.
The overview chooses its special money symbol before the free-spin round. Its earlier description assigns that symbol to the whole free-game session. It does not describe choosing a new one each time four more spins arrive.
The round can end before the count reaches zero
The same help screen limits the free-spin round to winnings of 5,000 times the bet. At that total, it ends the round, awards the win and forfeits the remaining free spins. The retrigger wording does not provide another 5,000-times allowance for the extension.
Apply that ending condition to the hypothetical position above. If the fifth completed spin takes the round exactly to its stated win limit, the six unplayed spins do not run. They are the unused part of the feature that the ending clause removes. This example uses the threshold exactly; it makes no claim about the frequency of reaching it.
Here the documented ceiling is monetary. It does not supply a fixed maximum number of retriggers. Our maximum-win explainer examines the separate questions of stake units and why a ceiling says nothing about its probability.
A feature counter is not a promotional balance
The feature in these rules belongs to the game round. The word free does not identify how entry was funded: the overview also describes a paid entry route, examined separately in our feature-purchase article.
An operator's promotional free-spin allocation needs its own terms. The game's seven-plus-four rule does not establish who qualifies for an offer, when it expires or what its winnings can be withdrawn as. A casino promotion and an in-game retrigger should not share an assumed balance merely because both use the words free spins.
For a counter dispute, retain the initial award, completed-spin record and each credited retrigger, together with the game's rules and round identifier. Ask which event ended the sequence. A count reaching zero, a stated win limit and an interruption describe different events; the interrupted-round report follows the last of those.
