Reopening a slot can mean continuing a wager the account has already accepted. A stalled bonus animation does not establish that the feature was lost, that its next result changed or that a fresh stake is due. The useful evidence is the saved round: which part completed, which part remains and which choices were already fixed.

Book of Dead provides a specific example. The game rules published by Bet442, read on 26 October 2026, say disrupted rounds retain game information and placed bets so that play can continue from the interruption. This is a public operator rules page, not a recovery test of a customer account or a promise about every slot carrying the same title.

The bonus has more to retain than a spinning reel

That help page describes an initial award of ten free spins and a symbol chosen before the sequence to act as its expanding symbol. It also keeps the triggering bet and selected paylines for the feature. Those details give an unfinished round a history that a brand-new spin would not share.

Take an invented sequence with no retriggers. Three of the initial ten free spins have completed, leaving seven. Restoring that recorded position would mean preserving the feature's existing terms, including the symbol already selected. Starting again with a newly chosen symbol would describe a different state, not simply a replay of the same pictures.

There is a timing problem, however. Suppose the fourth free spin completed on the server while its animation froze on the phone. Six would remain in that alternative example. A screenshot still showing seven cannot establish that the server owes seven more spins. Equally, a support reply saying only that the game reloaded does not establish which position it restored.

Neither example is a result observed by Tribune. They illustrate why a remaining-spin counter, the completed results and the round identifier have to refer to the same point in the sequence.

The published Book of Dead rules also combine feature and other applicable wins at the end of the round. An intermediate feature total therefore needs to be matched to the completed round's settlement rather than treated as a separate new prize. Our game-production guide explains why the visible client, game server and operator wallet can belong to different parts of that process.

Britain's standard distinguishes restoration from a refund

Great Britain's RTS 10 interruption standard calls for reasonable efforts to recover multi-stage play to its last known position. Its supporting guidance names retained information such as collected tokens, predetermined layouts and accepted wagers. The applicability annex includes casino gaming.

This is a recovery obligation within that British framework, not a guarantee that any crashed feature will reappear instantly. RTS 10 also addresses valid outcomes that can stand without another customer decision, and single-stage wagers interrupted before an outcome exists. These circumstances do not all receive the same treatment.

An ordinary connection loss also needs to be distinguished from a declared game malfunction. The Bet442 page has a separate malfunction clause as well as its unfinished-round wording. Reading the former as an automatic cancellation of every dropped connection would erase the distinction the page itself makes.

Our live-casino interruption report examines accepted table bets and unfinished card decisions. A slot feature adds its own retained items; the same word, disconnected, does not identify the product's recovery procedure.

The unfinished round can have an expiry rule

The Book of Dead page says unresolved, undecided bets in incomplete games become void after 90 days. That is a limit in this named public help, not a worldwide retention period or a deadline supplied by RTS 10. It does not justify assuming that an incomplete feature will wait indefinitely.

A useful support enquiry identifies the original round, the approximate interruption time and time zone, the last visible feature state and any later settlement entry. Ask whether the feature resumed, finished without the missing animation or was voided under a stated rule. If the account record and the saved feature disagree, the response needs to reconcile those entries.

Reconnecting alone does not show that an outcome was drawn again. The question is whether the restored round retained the commitments already made, and what the operator's record says happened to the unfinished part.
